Tapping Into the Untapped
We are the clay, He is the potter. Why? Because God wants us to know who is in control. 2 Corinthians 4:7 Just as a jeweler shows off the beauty of a diamond on a black backdrop and not side by side with other diamonds, God is the same way. When He wishes to demonstrate the value of HIS power, He displays it in human clay pots so that the glory may be given to Him and Him alone.
The potter is in control of the clay. He shapes it, makes it, molds it, pulls it, and sometimes, he has to smash it into one big ball and start all over again; ultimately creating a beautiful piece. Sometimes, he has to allow things to come to let us know that we are His children, we belong to him, and not ourselves. He loves to show off His power through His sons and daughters, even though we sometimes do not understand why.
One thing that we must learn along this journey is, and if you reflect back you will see, when you are at your weakest point, you somehow found the strength to keep on going and not give up. Take an olive for example, no pressing, no oil! We go through things in order for God to bring out the best in us. If we never went through anything, we would never know how strong we really are!
Corinthians 8 states, "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed but not in despair." God is with us through it all, and He DOES allow things to happen, but it is not to kill the soul of a man, but to kill the FLESH! For no flesh can glory in His presence.
Therefore, when we are made weak, He is our strength. His power is more than sufficient, He shows that the power is His and His alone through tough, unseen, unexpected and misunderstood situations.
The key is that the things that we think break us are the very things that God uses to make us. God seems to be more interested in human character than human achievements; because of that, He uses adversity to lift us up.
Bottom line, we are jugs and it is in our weakness that His strength appears. He knows how much we can handle, and when we lose strength and hope, He kicks in (Holy Spirit). When we stop fighting what it is that He wants to get out of us, then we see just how much He loves us and wants to see us prosper. No, He does not do everything; He gives us strength and wisdom to do all things THROUGH Him.
So when you are faced with oppositions, just know that the Word of God is true, and it is not that He wants to see us suffer, but He knows that we truly give our best when we are at our lowest point.
